Boy Scout Troop 516 serves Woodridge, IL and surrounding communities. We meet at Willow Creek Elementary School on Friday evenings during the school year & Prince of Peace Lutheran Church when the school is unavailable & during the summer months. We are active throughout the entire year with 12 months of camping, hiking and other activities.

We use the patrol method and are a youth run organization. The role of the adults in the Troop is one of helping the Scouts to learn leadership; to take responsibility and to plan then execute their own activities. Our supervision provides the Safe Scouting for the Scouts while allowing them enough room to learn from their own successes and mistakes. We see Scouting as an ideal program for helping boys learn to become the sort of men that others will respect and look up to.

Memorial Day Parade May 29th

All local Woodridge Boy Scout Troop Honor/Color Guards are once again invited to join the Woodridge Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1578 in the annual Memorial Day Silent Flag Parade, Monday, May 29th.  This parade will have a cadence, provided by a drum line, but no music; silent and solemn.  

Troop Car Wash June 3rd

Troop Car Wash: Our troop is also holding a fundraising car wash at Jefferson JH from 10am to 1pm. This fundraiser is to assist scouts going on the high adventure trip next year. Even if a scout is not going on the trip, they can earn service hours for rank advancements. Please email me at jtnewey@yahoo.comif you can make the car wash.

Webelos Overnight June 3rd

Webelos Overnight: Our troop will be running a station at Webelos Overnight this year. We will be teaching the Game design pin. We are looking for 2 adults and 4 scouts to assist in a four hour shift. 
8 am to noon or 1 pm to 5 pm. If you can come in the morning, lunch will be provided after the shift. If you can work the afternoon shift, dinner will be provided after the shift. 

If you can assist, please let me know by emailing me at jtnewey@yahoo.com. Let me know which shift you would be able to assist with. This is a special event where we get to promote our troop to webelos in a number of packs.

 Mini-high adventure for 2017

 General items

  • Need at least two adults going
  • $100.00 deposit to reserve your spot per person.
    • $50.00 will not be refundable if you back out.
    • I don’t expect the cost to go much above $100 per person
    • The $100 will cover
      • Camping fees
      • Food
      • Travel *paying for gas and any other travel fees for the adults attending
      • Crew gear
  • Age is 14+ or 13 years old if approved and your parent attends.
  • Tentative dates are a Wed to Sunday.
    • June 14-18 *preferred
    • June 21-25
    • We are trying to schedule to not be on the same weekend for the regular campout.
